Micro distribution fiber optic cable is a form of high density fiber cable often used in premises LAN networks, especially where space and performance are concerns. Primus Cable provides micro distribution cable composed of anywhere from two strand to up to 144 strands of fiber.
In a micro distribution cable, the fibers are organized into sub units surrounded by an aramid yarn with a 2.95mm PVC outer jacket. The sub units can be sequentially numbered and color coded. All component materials meet the EU RoHS and REACH Directive standards. We offer both riser and plenum rated micro distribution fiber optic cable.
The spread of fire and smoke throughout the airways of a building is a concern when installing cable within plenum spaces. When running fiber through plenum air spaces, they must adhere to NEC (National Electric Code) codes to minimize the propagation of fire in an emergency.

This single mode micro distribution cable is composed of anywhere from single tube to up to a dozen sub units of fiber.
It is manufactured of premium quality Corning® optical fibers measuring 250µm. It is OFNP rated in compliance with NEC Article 770 for plenum applications. Another benefit of high density micro distribution cable is that it can transmit large quantities of data in the most efficient manner, utilizing as little physical space as possible.
For vertical, floor to floor high density applications, Primus Cable offers the Micro-Distribution Fiber Optic Cable, Single Mode, 9/125, Corning Fiber, Indoor, Riser. This high density riser cable comes in two strand to up to 96 strand variations. It is rated OFNR for riser applications in accordance with NEC Article 770. It has a small outside diameter to fit in tight spaces and also utilizes Corning® glass optical fibers. We also supply micro distribution fiber optic cable in multimode versions as well.
